UFO’s over Barton-le-Clay

Taken from Newsletter Issue 53 - September 2007

Barton-le-Clay in Bedfordshire can lay claims to many things. However you maybe surprised to learn that the village is one of only ninety-seven places in the UK where a UFO was spotted during last year. On July 24 2006 the Ministry of Defence logged a sighting of four independent bright orange lights going south to north at 10.15 pm in Barton. It usually takes thirty years for such records to be released but thanks to the Freedom of Information Act reports from 1998 to 2006 can be viewed on the MoD’s website.

During 2006 the MoD logged ninety seven eye witness reports of UFO activity compared to one hundred and twenty eight reports in 2005. There is a further claim that a string of two sets of two lights flew over Dunstable on June 20th 2003 at 8.35 am. Furthermore on March 25 2004 a large ball of light which looked like a rocket made a slight whirring sound as it apparently whizzed above Leighton Buzzard at 10.10pm. The MoD logs UFO sightings because of a threat to national security and it would appear that Bedfordshire is attracting UFO activity although no landings have yet been reported. Unlike Hastings in May 2006 where two witnesses claimed to have seen two aliens outside their kitchen window.

Footnote: We thought this article was interesting as less than two weeks earlier two of our members had been for a walk in the Barton Hills and had photographed a crop circle in the fields. Any connection? (We must say that it seems the circle was around back as far as 11th June).
