UFOs are a Fact - Part 2
Taken from Newsletter Issue 13 - May 2004
Since my first sighting of a UFO in 1962, I have set my goal to prove what these unidentified objects really are. My first action was to join a paranormal club in Watford, Hertfordshire called the SHUIFOG, (South Herts. Unidentified Flying Objects Group). We visited sites and got a few sightings too, but nothing concrete enough fulfil my curiosity. It was my first venture into paranormal study; I was on a learning curve gathering information and making notes of places visited with any incidents out of the ordinary. I made many interesting trips here and abroad and met a lot of like-minded dedicated people who had many a tale to tell of their experiences from Crop Circles, UFO’s to Ghosts. My most memorable was in 2001 when I visited the well-documented Area 51 in Nevada America. I had read many conflicting articles about the Roswell Incident and the flying saucers that collided and crashed in Roswell, New Mexico on July 4th. 1947. Was it fact, fiction or a real government cover up?
I was advised if I wanted to get some real facts, it was best to visit a place called Rachael. This is a village about 140 miles from Las Vegas, near the vicinity of Area 51 where the American Military carry out experimental design and development on aircraft. The most plausible version I heard on the Roswell incident was by a reliable witness who said he saw a bright light hurtling towards earth above Roswell at about 8pm. on 4th. July 1947. He says the light split into two and a loud explosion followed. The next morning a farmer in this area accompanied by his neighbour’s son found a lot of debris in his field. They collected and loaded some bits of it in his truck and took it home. He said that there were a lot of large sheets of silver foil which, when it was crumpled and released, straightened out flat immediately. It would not burn, but was always icy to the touch. He also noted that it was impossible to cut it with a knife. He had collected a few metal rods of varying lengths, which were extremely light and yet very difficult to bend even though they were no thicker than half an inch across. Not even an acetylene torch was able to melt these rods.
The reason I think there must be a bit of truth to this statement is because two nuns working in an observatory in Mexico entered a log that night at 8pm. stating they observed a bright light overhead hurtling towards earth. A press release issued by the Commander of the 509th Bomber Group from Roswell stated that on the 8th. July 1947 the wreckage of a flying disc had been recovered. This statement was refuted on the 9th. July by the same Group claiming that it was actually a weather balloon. This was after the crash area was sealed off and all the debris including a disc had been removed by the military. I questioned a few people who had been in Roswell at the time of the crash and had read the reports. They seem to be of the opinion that the government took steps to cover the incident because its not what they saw. Some stories claim that the military removed a large disc, which was wedged into the side of a hill. There were apparently also four human- shaped beings lying by the disc, three dead and one alive taken away. I would like to follow up my investigation to get nearer the truth. There is still a lot of information on the NET and written in books, so I think in time the whole story will emerge.
