General
The name Colmworth derives from an Old English personal name and the word worth meaning Culma's enclosure. At the time of the Domesday Book the village was called Colmeborde-worde or Culmeuuorde. It is said that in the seventeenth century the village was so poor that there were houses without a hearth.

Honeydon Road
Around 1990 a group of five people were travelling along Honeydon Road when they spotted another car in front of them and moving in the same direction. They followed the other car for a while until they lost sight of it as it turned a corner. As they came out of the same bend they realised the other car had vanished, but there was no where for it to have gone.
