General
The name Colmworth derives from an Old English personal name and the word worth meaning 'Culma's enclosure'. At the time of the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was called Colmeborde-worde and Culmeuuorde. It is said that in the seventeenth century the village was so poor that there were houses without a hearth. In the 2001 Census the parish population was 367.

Honeydon Road
Around 1990 a group of five people were travelling along Honeydon Road when they spotted another car in front of them and moving in the same direction. They followed the other car for a while until they lost sight of it as it turned a corner. As they came out of the same bend they realised the other car had vanished, but there was no where for it to have gone.
