Chalgrove and Fingest Investigation
Friday 18th June 2010

Investigation Start Time - 8:30pm

For our second investigation in June we are heading across to Oxfordshire to investigate the site of Chalgrove Field, where a skirmish took place on this day in 1643 during the English Civil War. We will park in an industrial estate just to the north of the monument to Colonel John Hampden who was mortally wounded at Chalgrove. For those with satellite navigation the meeting point is given in different formats at the bottom of this page. From there we will take the short walk to the monument and the site of the skirmish which is in the field to the west.

For the second investigation we will head across to Fingest in Buckinghamshire to investigate the church dedicated to St Bartholomew which a few of us briefly investigated in 2005. We will investigate the haunted churchyard and may take a walk along the haunted Chequers Lane as well.
