Edgehill Investigation
Saturday 23rd October 2010

Investigation Start Time - 5:00pm

On the 23rd October in 1642 the first pitched battle of the English Civil War took place at Edgehill. This year LPS are breaking with our usual habit of holding a Friday investigation by travelling up to Edgehill on the anniversary of the battle, which this year falls on a Saturday.

We will meet at the Castle public house at 5pm, this is a lot earlier than usual but it will give LPS members a chance to have a look across the battlefield from the best viewpoint along the ridge. From there we will travel down to the battlefield area to view the battle memorial and various sites where some of the action took place. For those with satellite navigation the meeting point is given in different formats at the bottom of this page.
