Unfortunately we have been unable to find any information on Batchworth, its origins and history. If anyone out there has any information then please let us know. All we do know is that in the 2001 Census the population was 208 with another 117 in Batchworth Park.

Moor Lane
In the 1930s a member of the Watford Army Cadets was cycling along Moor Lane on the way to meet some friends. Suddenly a figure appeared in the middle of the road directly in his path, he tried to swerve out of the way but it was too late. Expecting to hit the figure he was rather surprised when he rode straight through it.
