Chiswell Green is most famous for the Royal National Rose Societies Gardens of the Rose. This is the leading rose garden in Great Britain with thirty thousand roses in one thousand seven hundred and fifty varieties. This does not include the six hundred unnamed varieties in the experimental garden. Major refurbishment saw the gardens closed during 2004 to allow them to be expanded to cover twenty four hectares.

The Three Hammers

The Three Hammers public house was named after its former use as a blacksmith’s shop until the mid 1880s. The pub seemed to have a problem with clean glasses which used to throw themselves off the shelves.
