Brick House
Brick House is haunted by the ghost of a monk. In the late 1980s the monk was seen wandering in the churchyard as if he was looking for something. A local legend has it that a murder was committed in the vicinity of the haunting and the monk may in some way be associated with the killing.

Rectory
In the old former rectory at Great Hormead has been heard the sound of footsteps coming from the rooms upstairs. Initially the sounds seem to be coming from the stairs to the attic and sound like someone descending from the attic to the upper floor so it is thought they may be being made by a former servant (as the attic was the traditional servants quarters). The sounds have been heard by numerous people other than the owners including guests and other visitors. The footsteps are loud so people think they are those of a man. The building itself dates back to the sixteenth century.
