Warren Farm

In the mid 1990s a man driving to work saw an American airman in full flying gear near to the front gate to Warren Farm. The same apparition was seen by both the man and his wife on numerous occasions as they drove past the farm.

A former airfield to the east of the farm was occupied by American forces during the Second World War. The only death that occurred in the area was on 3rd April 1943 when a P47c Thunderbolt suffered engine failure and crashed near Green Tye. The pilot, Lieutenant Smolenski died in the subsequent fire.
