Unfortunately we have been unable to find any information on Gustard Wood, its origins and history execpt for the population as given in the 2001 Census which was 112. If anyone out there has any information then please let us know.
The original Tin Pot in Gustard Wood (now a private residence) is said to have been one of the haunts of Katherine Ferrers, The Wicked Lady, who would use the pub to change into her highwayman gear. One night two people staying in the room Katherine had used were disturbed by the feeling of a strange presence. The feeling affected them so much that one of them wrote a poem about the experience which was put up in the bar.
