Epping Forest Investigation
18th August 2007
For this investigation we travelled across to Epping Forest to explore an area that is said to be haunted by Dick Turpin and which was previously explored by the Most Haunted team. Unlike Most Haunted we tried our hardest not to get lost in the forest. One of Dick Turpin's bases was said to have been built up against an ancient earthwork known as Loughton Camp which was the area we intended to explore. This investigation was a joint one as it was being organised by NPEG.
Members of LPS went to the forest car park off Cross Roads (the road from Loughton to High Beach), 250m from the A104, where we were to meet with the NPEG team. At just after 20:30 both groups set off to our start point for the walk which was at the top of Strawberry Hill where the Three Forests Way enters the wood. We followed this path northwest deep into the wood then slowly turned north until we reached the top of the hill where Loughton Camp stands (just off the path to the west). When we arrived we had a quick exploration of the very dark site then split up into teams to do vigils across the expanse of Loughton Camp starting at 21:45. Unfortunately the night had turned out to be a very wet one as will be seen if you view the photo gallery. None-the-less it was still an enjoyable event and one which we shall repeat at a drier time.

Listen for a strange rythmic, almost muscial noise that occurs
three times between 14 and 18 seconds in.
We never heard it at the time.
