Records for this ancient woodland date back as far as the sixth century. Spirits are said to wander the woods but nobody knows why. Remains of Danish soldiers have been found near the River Lea in the area where they are said to have fought in battle. LPS visited the site completing a 3.3km circuit in an effort to discover if it is the lost souls of the Danish soldiers who have been seen wandering through the woods.
