Houghton House Investigation
1st May 2009
Another site visited often by LPS is Houghton House in Ampthill. Over the years it has become a favourite with many members who have commented the site emits warmth and a general good feeling. Although things have been recorded here on LPS visits, vigils have never been conducted so LPS returned to investigate the site thoroughly in small teams.
The Haunting: In 1915 a woman walking home from work heard the sound of horses hooves fast approaching. As she threw herself in to a nearby ditch she heard the thundering noise of horses hooves and the jingling of harnesses go past in the direction of Houghton House. The only thing was, that there was nothing in sight.
It was a much awaited investigation for LPS but sadly due to unforeseen circumstances (as can be read in the reports) only one vigil was conducted before LPS had to leave the site.
