Warden Abbey Investigation
4th to 8th January 2010
During January 2010, LPS members Bill and Steph stayed in a beautiful historic building called Warden Abbey in Old Warden, Bedfordshire. This Landmark Trust property lies on the site of a Cistercian Abbey founded in 1135. The Abbey was dissolved in 1537 and a house was built on the site. All that remains now is Warden Abbey, a quirky yet enchanting piece of history.
During the stay, a few LPS members visited the house to conduct investigations. With so much history on the site the opportunity was taken to see if any unusual activity occurred.
The Abbey guestbook’s provided some very useful and interesting experiences had by previous holiday makers, which would come in useful, giving LPS particular areas of the building to focus on.
