Battlesden and Clophill - Old St Mary's Church Investigation

26th February 2010

A dedicated team of investigators braved the cold February weather to take a walk around local haunted sites at Battlesden and Clophill.

Five years ago to the day, LPS conducted their first investigation at Battlesden and decided it was time to return with new members and to the well know St Mary’s Church in Clophill.

The lane in Battlesden is said to be haunted by a pair of spectral hands which threw a log over a hedgerow into the path of a couple of oncoming cyclists. As much as the cyclists searched they could not find anyone in the area and had no idea why the log was thrown! Members walked along the lane to the church of St Peter which is said to be haunted by a monk.

Clophill is a notorious site for people wanting to scare themselves silly as the site was allegedly used for black magic in the 1960s and had graves defiled in later years. Members had a small window of opportunity to spend time at the site before, as expected, cars of teens turned up to frolic in its reputation.
