Bolter End - Hanover Hill and
Wheeler End Common Investigation
23rd July 2010
In July 2009 LPS investigated Hanover Hill at Bolter End in Buckinghamshire. The investigation was cut short on this occasion due to poor weather conditions but returning to the sites on July 23rd 2010 proved more favourable and a full investigation was conducted.
The 1940s and 1960s produced reports of a woman in red dress walking across Hanover Hill and the areas around Wheeler Common. One of the notable sightings was by a girl in 1973 who saw a woman in a red dress walking on Hanover Hill. Not too unusual one might think, but considering it was a cold December day and snowing, the girl observed the lady in a red dress did not have a coat on.
Was this the ghost of Anna? Who, in 1766, fell and died ten days before she was due to be married. She is said to have loved the colour red.
