Luton Paranormal SPI:RIT

To facilitate a quick response to any request for help LPS have created SPI:RIT (Specialist Paranormal Investigators:Research & Investigations Team). The purpose of this team is to investigate and assist any member of the public who feels that they have a problem with any paranormal phenomena that is occurring at their home, place of work etc. The team is available 24 hours of the day, 365 days of the year and consists of experienced investigators who will help in any way they can. It should be noted that we do not turn up with bell, book and candle to do exorcisms as this should be left to the religious expert appropriate to the site owner’s faith. We will investigate a site and tell the owner whether or not we believe there is something there that can not be explained by normal science and advice them on their options.

Any trained member of LPS can become a SPI:RIT member but there are several criteria that must first be met. One of the most important of these is a belief in what you are doing and the adequate knowledge to allow you to properly investigate a site. If you feel you are not adequately trained then we will assist you to remedy that shortcoming. You must make yourself available at short notice and at any time. The club can only provide a limited range of equipment so you will be expected to bring along equipment of your own. These are professional investigations and you need to be committed to the team and the investigation. Members wishing to investigate will be monitored for their input and professionalism and this will be reflected in whether or not they are asked to participate in further investigations.

Any SPI:RIT member is expected to keep notes during the investigation and to write a complete report, unlike a normal LPS investigation where the Team Leader writes the reports. All reports should contain the time of events, recorded results (temperature etc.) and any feelings that the SPI:RIT member has at the time. All reports must be typed up and submitted within 5 days unless otherwise specified at the investigation (depending on the degree of urgency in resolving the case). All other aspects of the ‘LPS Investigation Method’ and ‘Terms and Conditions of Membership’ will be strictly adhered to at all times.

If any members wish to join the SPI:RIT then they should contact the society's
